Everyone is welcome to join us for Sunday worship at Enumclaw Nazarene!
What to Expect on Sunday
We are a congregation in the process of growing young. We have mixed worship of both hymns and contemporary music.
Infants to 2 years
For parents with infants up to 2 years, we have a staffed nursery, if they choose to not have their child in service. We embrace and enjoy the presence of the youngest of us, too, and welcome them during Sunday service. We want parents to feel as comfortable as possible during worship, so bringing them in or leaving them in nursery is complete fine.
Toddler through Elementary
All ages are present during our prayer and singing time. Toddlers through Elementary have Sunday School after prayer and singing, and before the sermon.
PreTeen and Teens
Currently, we have our preteens and teens present during the whole service.
Attire Expectation (How to Dress)
Our big request is that we ask worshipers avoid wearing clothing that may be offensive to others.
You’ll notice a variety of dress styles among attendees. Whether you dress casually, in business casual attire, or in fancier clothes, you are welcome.\
While many people view a Sunday service as a special occasion and often dress accordingly, please don’t feel any pressure. We’ll just be glad you’re here!
Communion / Eucharist
We celebrate Communion (or the Eucharist) on the first Sunday of every month. There are certain special occasions, or sermon series, where we might also celebrate, but you can count on the first Sunday.
As a Wesleyan-Holiness denomination, we observe Communion with unfermented grape juice, so that it is not a barrier to those struggling with addiction.
One does not need to be a member of Enumclaw Nazarene, or even the denomination, in order to partake of the Lord’s Supper (also known as Open Communion). However, we recognize the danger in partaking of the Lord’s Supper presumptuously. While it is not required that a person be a member of the particular church serving communion, it is typically stated that only those who profess faith in Jesus Christ should partake of communion.
Holy Communion is the means of grace through which we receive the real presence of Jesus. The reality of Jesus’ Divine, grace-conveying, life-transforming presence in the sacrament of Holy Communion must not be minimized. In Communion, we believe that Jesus is really, efficaciously present to the believer when the believer ate and drank of the elements with faith. Communion is a Means of Grace of Sanctifying Grace that provides Christians with access to the grace which we need to literally walk the Christian walk and improve our Christian living toward the goal that God has for us in Christ Jesus.
